the greatest opportunity since the gold strike of 1849 and you're all bitching about a place to go,ARIZONA JUST HAD A FLOOD,GOLD HAS WASHED OUT OF THOSE MOUNTAINS BY WATER EROSION,NOW GO GET IT,I JUST FELL OUT OF A TRUCK AND CAN'T WALK,IF YOU'VE GOT YOUR HEALTH YOU'RE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ME,NOW GET TO IT,LUCKY BASTARDS - od strattuner
Here's A Lesson for All you uneducated People AS Gerry is correct.
GOLD is measured in TROY OUNCE'S, In Which there are 12 Troy Ounce's to the TROY POUND,
An Imperial Pound is 1.215 Troy Pounds OR 14.58 Troy Ounce's,
Or A Troy Pound is 13.17 Imperial Ounce's OR  0.8229 Imperial Pounds.

If you are going to insult the Man then at leased Know something about what you accuse him of, As an Imperial Pound is a totally different weight. of which there are 16 ounce's to the Imperial Pound, The Imperial Pound is used in shops for food etc,
The Troy Pound is used for Metals and Jewellery,

OK, so it is a couple ounces shy of 1 pound...but your 1st post said it was mainly quartz...which is totally false. In the gold nugget detecting community, many folks classify their finds as Specimens or Nuggets. A Specimen is one with more quartz than gold. A Nugget is one with more gold than quartz. - od Gerrys Detectors
