Allison Gold Mine

Komentarze: Allison Gold Mine Great video.  I just found you yesterday, and am really enjoying watching you're show.  Great job. - od Tom Gately
Thanks for the helpful video Pharaoh and happy belated birthday! I have been up Iron Mountain once, but I am going with a friend on a first attempt to find Allison Mine tomorrow!  - od Brandon Hillery
Did that trail 30 years ago with my dad. We came down the back side tho, which i don't recommend. We did it in a day dawn to dusk. one of the hardest and scariest hikes I've ever done. the decent off the back side was straight down and much of it accomplished by sliding on my behind. some of the sheer drop offs we traversed by goat trail using yuccas as hand holds. we were crazy! There was a registrar in that old pan when we went with lots of entries even though the trail was unmaintained back then. We made comment about the yuccas as many others had too, the most popular being "fucca yucca" lol thx for bringing back some old memories. your mention of big horn mine reminded me of the full days we spent exploring inside there before they barred it up. That mine makes alison mines tunnels look small. Glad you survived but I've seen you with snakes, you push the limit on safety ;-) - od john lopes
U the Man,Rock ON! - od james frank
Pharroah.  Gr8 videos.  phunny sheet man.  I just bought a map of the SGM's and plan to do some moderate backpacking there soon, maybe some phishing too.  Just wondering, what is in your first aid kit?  do you have tweezers to pull our yucca tips and tics?   - od nakasoner
I have went to the Bridge to nowhere and along the way there is what appears to be man made pools turn right and head up for about a half hour on your left you will see a ore cart take that trail up to the mine from there or keep going straight and you will run into what once was a group of cabins that are now knocked down , go up more and look to your left and you will see a lot of tunnels some with rails and some where they dumped the dirt , now this hike can take a day if you leave early I have done it and had taken some pictures of the mine and cabins , this trip seemed too long and all up hill . the way we went we were there quicker. - od Tony Yracheta
5 will get you 10 that's a mountain lion not a bear. watch your back! - od Jack G
In my opinion, you are missing a golden opportunity. Take some friends next time and a metal detector so you can scan the walls of those gold mines, and a gold pan. You can dry pan too without the water. Or, next time you trek alone, carry out some paydirt from a couple locations to pan when you get home just to see if bringing anything else would be worth it. Glad you were ok...don't you have a dog to come along? Dogs are great. - od Iamme Iamfree
Glad you're alright. I have since added an Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper tweezers to my pack after watching this video. Ouch. - od ReclusiveMountainMan

Nice! I was just there doing Chris Brennans canyoneering route. Didn't make it to the first rap because someone got a nasty cramp but plan on going back soon! - od FunctionalFFreak
Another great adventure.  Thanks for sharing with us all.  You are a manly man for hiking all the way out with that Yucca buried in you. I have had them in me also...hate em!  I know how it is not getting people to camp with you but be careful buddy.  I know your smart and tough but that fall could have ended a lot worse! - od Jeeper tim
I made it up there a few years ago. I need to get the pics online. There was an awesome ore crusher that looked like and anerican space pod from the 60's. Also a couple if smelters were made of brick. These are two things I didn't see on your video. They were hiding pretty good... Also a couple of v8 engines. It's hard to imagine donkeys hauling that stuff in. When you were there did you come across an old red torn down tent in front of the mine? - od brohemthesurvivor
I almost missed this fantastic video Alan, full of interesting and edge of the seat stuff, also Alan a belated Happy 48th Birthday :)
Best Wishes....Les. - od fepowson
