The way Hunter talks about gold there should be none about at all. Why then is he promoting sales. If it was so good he would be out scrambling for it and hide the great investment value. Alasdair's exasperation at the gold price (mispriced!) might be explained not so much by negative sentiment or conspiratorial manipulation but because the Chinese who have been "secretly" buying gold for a long time now (as he states) turn around and rehypothecate it multiple times over to make money, probably via the City of London. This is an exceptionally good interview. Alasdair's practical but pragmatic insights are very useful for those of us grappling with the uncertainties of future events. You did a great job of extracting from him a pretty comprehensive overview of the current international financial situation. While Alasdair was not committed to a specific scenario or time line, he laid out enough touch stones we can use as points of reference to find our way as events unfold.
One of the greatest problems in the changing financial market place is a lack of deep insight. It's my opinion that you and he offer enough seasoned and reasoned thought that the rest of us can begin to see the larger picture more clearly. Seeing the mind numbing fog of possibilities can leave one distracted and discouraged. When it comes to making good decisions clarity is everything.
